of novel.

A three-year old son, a struggling café, and fading memories are all Robin Price has left of her late husband. As the proud owner of Willow Tree Café in small town Peaks, Iowa,  she pours her heart into every muffin she bakes and espresso she pulls, thankful for the sense of purpose and community the work provides.

So when developer Ian McKay shows up in Peaks with plans to build condos where her café and a vital town ministry are located, she isn’t about to let go without a fight.

As stubborn as he is handsome, Ian won’t give up easily. His family’s business depends on his success in Peaks. But as Ian pushes to seal the deal, he wonders if he has met his match. Robin’s gracious spirit threatens to undo his resolve, especially when he discovers the beautiful widow harbors a grief that resonates with his own.

With polarized opinions forming all over town, business becomes unavoidably personal and Robin and Ian must decide whether to cling to the familiar or surrender their plans to the God of Second Chances.

My Review.

Robin Price deals with being a new widow. Still holding onto the memory of her late husband And trying to move on with her life, not only for her but also her three-year old son. A stranger comes to town and threatens her café business. The café’ is her safe haven in a world of chaos, she fights to save it.
Robin is suddenly attracted to the tall dark handsome stranger threatens her café business. Ian McKay is Robin’s worst nightmare trying to take her business and tear down the buildings along the riverfront to build condos. One of buildings happens to be Robin’s café business.
Story's plot and the characters face such a big loss, and struggling to moving on. Who’d thought Robin would find a new love interest in the man trying to take what she has left.
I enjoyed reading this great novel by Katie Ganshert. A women’s worst nightmare in life is losing her husband and trying to move on. Robin is a strong willed woman hanging on by a thread, but she does and shares her journey with us.

My Rating 3 out of 5 Stars

When she’s not busy plotting ways to get her hero and heroine to fall in love, she enjoys watching movies with her husband, playing make-believe with her wild-child of a son, and chatting with her girlfriends at Panera®. She could talk books all day and is often spotted around town pushing a stroller, walking her dog, and reading—all at the same time.
