(Goodreads  http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/42313-one-sunday-a-novel)
In this humorous and heartfelt novel, a beleaguered young woman must shed her career, identity,
and power persona to learn how to love and forgive herself, others, and God.
At age thirty-seven, Alice Ferguson has everything an ambitious, intellectual, self-made woman
could want. She has captured a career as an editor of a tabloid magazine, launched her own
website full of Hollywood gossip, and even clawed her way into a second-hand pair of Prada
shoes. She has also finally landed a husband—no small feat, as it required getting pregnant
 with his baby.
But when Alice becomes pregnant and experiences health problems, her world is turned
upside down.

~My review~
Guest Reviewer by Destiny Rodriguez.

The book is about the life of a thirty-seven year old editor for a  tabloid magazine named

Alice Ferguson. Alice’s tells her story from her  point of view in this book.

Alice reflects on the journey that life has taken her through and flashbacks that she remembers as well.

Alice tells us she had a happy childhood up until  her mother died from cancer when she was very young.

In her teens she was in a lot of pain, so much of anger in losing her mother and shame on how she’d lived a reckless teenaged life and sin.

Alice visits Los Angeles California and attends many high profile celebrity parties.

In one party she met Burton Banister at a party in Bel Air in the summer in California.

A costume party with many pro athletes and celebrities in attendance.

Alice consumes many types of hard liquor and Vicodin pills .

That night ended in a one nightstand as Alice later takes a blood test to confirm her carrying Burton Banister baby.

Both careless and not wearing a condom is how this all happened.

Alice really never wanted to have a baby, as Alice thinks of her sinful behavior of her one nightstand.

When Alice returns home and tells her father she’s carrying a baby and slowly wants to change her life.

Now Alice is married to a sports doctor Burton Banister.

Alice searches for forgiveness for her sins and attends church every Sunday bring all those painful memories to surface.

Pastor Tim says,”: Today were honoring ,  celebrating, and loving our mother’s.”

Days like this Alice really needed her mother, even after she died.

This was a great novel to sit back and relax to and read.  I recommend this great book to readers.

~SUMMARY~
(Good reads
Wendy Plump’s friend came to tell her that her husband was having an affair. It was not a shock.
Actually, it explained a lot. But what Wendy was not prepared for was the revelation that her
husband also had another child, living within a mile of their family home.

Monogamy is one of the most important of the many vows we make in our marriages. Yet it is a rare
spouse who does not face some level of temptation in their married life. The discovery of her
husband’s affair followed betrayals of Wendy’s own, earlier in the marriage. The revelations
of those infidelities had tested their relationship, but for Wendy, it was commitment—the
sticking with it—that mattered most, and when her sons were born, she knew family had to
come first. But with another woman and another family in the picture, she lost all sense of
certainty.

In Vow, Wendy Plump boldly walks one relationship’s fault lines, exploring infidelity from the
perspective of both betrayer and betrayed. Moving fluidly from the intimate to the near-universal,
she considers the patterns of adultery, the ebb and flow of passion, the undeniable allure of the
illicit, the lovers and the lies. Frank, intelligent and important, Vow will forever alter your
understanding of fidelity, and the meaning of the promises we make to those we love.

Vow: A Memoir of Marriage (and Other Affairs)
Author:  Wendy Plump

This  novel is about Wendy Plump that is married to Bill and have two son’s.
Wendy is the narrator in this novel.
Wendy takes us on her journey of her marriage to Bill.
They met in college when they were nineteen and married eight years later.
A friend coming over one morning thought it was best to tell Wendy  about Bill’s affair.
As Wendy looks back and pieces things together, It all falls into place.
Wendy couldn’t figure out  Things that Bill had done at times,  now it  made perfect sense
To Wendy.  The holes in their marriage were Wendy sensed things weren’t right..
Now did.
One day when she was cooking dinner Bill walked in and looked at her saying
he’d just had dinner with another woman.
Bill explained he’d made a new friend and that nothing happened.
The following week when Bill left out of town for a business meeting,
Wendy went through the house for any kind of proof of any of Bill’s affairs.
All the alibi’s Bill told her.
The late night movies Bill been to on his own,  times he claimed to drive around
“Just thinking”, so he say’s .
One day Wendy finds Bill’s diary in the clothset confirming names and of many of his infidelities.
Finding more evidence around the house like, credit card receipts for “gentlemen’s clubs”, and
American express statements. Wendy confronts Bill.  Bill is forgiven.
Wendy confessed to Bill that she also had her own affair’s.
Bill already knew of one in the beginning of there marriage and forgave Wendy.
Later on Wendy finds out of many more affair’s and a child she didn’t know about.
Wendy starts her own affairs and  that’s how most of their marriage goes.
Wendy was shattered that her husband lusted for another woman many of them.
Wendy tries to think  on why she’d had affair’s and tries to figure out were their marriage went wrong.
The affairs they both had in their marriage.
All the excuses, lovers, lies, they both committed.
One day Wendy and Bill agreed to seek in marriage counseling to try and repair their broken marriage.
In one of their sessions Bill was pissed and ended walking out of the office.
Bill didn’t like to hear that Wendy had betrayed him, just as much as Bill done to her.
This novel was a roller coaster  ride for them both.
 And I enjoyed the ride.
The vow is a great book  that I enjoyed reading  and that I wasn’t able to put down.
A wife’s worst nightmare and Wendy lived it.
Wendy Plump was able to write and share her story with us.
I think that was very brave on her part.
To re-live heart break must have been  tough and very emotional, I hope by doing this Wendy
got closure.
I honestly could say  from reading this novel that every women should read this novel.
You’ll be glad you did.

I Rate this novel(Out of 5 stars rating.)

~SUMMARY~
(GOOD READS http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16007114-the-secret-of-emotions)
If following your heart has repeatedly gotten you into trouble, but to follow your head feels like a kind of soul-death, then this book will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you. It will teach your head how to understand the language of your heart, and teach your heart how to speak the language of God.
This book explains that our emotional sensations tell us about the virtues we are experiencing, and that these virtues are reflections of the qualities of God in the world. Making the connection between emotions and virtues gives us a whole new vocabulary for understanding our feelings. Since most people make their life-choices based on their feelings rather than reason, understanding the meaning of our emotions is the SECOND-most important lesson we can learn in this life.

My review

This book is a great tools of emotions guide to help understanding the connection between our emotional sensations, our experience of virtues, and our longing for God.
Healing tools to accurately identify your feelings so that you can develop the virtues that will help you become the best person possible in life.
I agree with many ideas and explanations the writer describes in this book.
Such as;
The Importance of Emotions, Consulting with your emotions as well.
Physical Emotions and Spiritual Emotions detailed and explained.
Understanding Love and different types of emotions.
This book helps in recognizing true love and explains the understanding of love and not be fooled by it.
I really enjoyed the Arthurs explanation of Americas classic romance. Using Twilight's characters Bella and Edward the Arthur explains the best way to make readers understand many views of Bella’s and Edwards vampire and human love story.
The charts in this book help better understand every thing.
After learning these tools to heal and live happier, longing for god.
For a healing way to a better life.

I believe three things:

Who's Making Love To Your Wife While You're Out Making Love

Who's Making Love To Your Wife While You're Out Making Love

by

 Author David Murdock
Paperback, 48 pages
Published 2007 by David Murdock
ISBN  978-1-60530-342-0

I won this book from good reads.

~SUMMARY~(GOOD READS)

Mastering the "Art of Making Love" will require continuous adaptation...In this book the author will define and reveal the truth about "making love". His directness to men in this book will make men think twice about their behavior towards other women when they are not in the presence of their companion.
His desire is to bring God awareness to men on how God wants them to treat the "lady" in their life.

My Review

"Art of Making Love” is a book from a mans point of view.
He revisits his past mistakes being very painful for him.
He tries to go back to see were he went wrong, what made his 28 year marriage end?
Tries to find peace and closure, as he tries to rebuild  his life.
The writer masters the explanation of “The art of making love.”
Giving different perspectives and definitions as well as giving his own opinions.
This book tries to give the reader assistance and support to give your wife, in which he failed to do.
This book shares many bible sayings.
Advice he gives and explains through the book, never take love for granted,  connect with your wife,  communication, and others to keep marriage strong.

One thing I did not like or agree with the author of this book is:

(Scene from book. Page 29)
“I feel the lady in my life should never go to another man to talk about the fool I am….
My lady should be able to come  to me and talk to the king in me.. or the fool for that matter..”

How can he say that when he talks about cheating with other women in this book.
You should give what you receive in return.
That's my honest opinion.
I’m pretty sure his wife wished he never seeks sex from other women.
Which he did.

The book talks a lot about disloyalty, deception, weakness, insecurities, and life being unfair.
Good advice he gives is to love your wife.
I agree.
In the beginning of this book David says "Every Man...should read this book."
I also agree with that.
I honestly did like reading this book, a man's way of thinking was a plus.
David was honest in the way men truly think and he didn't hold back in that at all.
I think men should read this book as well as women.

I rate this book

~SUMMARY~
(Goodreads http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...)
Hardships and heartache brought them together…now it will tear them apart.
Layken(Lake) and Will have proved their love can get them through anything; until someone from Will’s past
re-emerges, leaving Layken(Lake) questioning the very foundation on which their relationship was built. Will is forced to face the ultimate challenge…how to prove his love for a girl who refuses to stop ‘carving pumpkins.

~My Review~
“Point of Retreat” is the sequel of “Slammed” (Slammed#1). In Colleen Hoover Slammed Series .
The main characters in this novel are Lake and Will whom are in a relationship together for over a year ago on December eighteen.
The narration of this novel is told by Will’s perspective.
After Will’s after parents passed away he was left to raise his two little brothers Kel and Caulder.
With Lake’s help and support in rising them together.
Will is starting spring semester at college and on the first day Will notices the girl in the front row.
When she turns around in her seat his heart sinks.
Then she walks over and sits next to him.
She was his ex girl friend Vaughn who left him when his parents passed away.
Will hadn’t seen Vaughn in almost three years and parted in bad terms.
she left him at a time that he needed her most.
Vaughn acted excited to see him.
Will convinced himself that Lake didn’t need to know this.
One day out of the blue Vaughn shows up at his place wanting to talk to him as she sits on his bed.
She wants to make amends and say sorry to Will.
Vaughn smiles and hugs Will good bye as closure between them.
Will gives Vaughn a peck on her forehead as they pull apart.
That’s when Will sees Lake standing in the doorway watching them and then leaves.

SCENCE from book:

“Lake it’s nothing. I swear. It’s nothing.”
“I saw you, Will. I saw you hugging her. It wasn’t nothing,” she cries. “You kissed her forehead! Why would you do that?” She isn’t trying to hold back her tears this time.
“I’m sorry, Lake. I’m so sorry. It didn’t mean anything. I was asking her to leave.”

That was a very well written emotional scene in the novel. Will’s world was crushing around him as the novel said.
I could really feel the raw emotions from them both in this novel. I could read behind their heart aches and pain.
The way Will wipes the tears from Lakes face, it makes me melt feeling their love clearly.
The roller coaster ride of their ups and downs and the obstacles trying to tear them both apart .
The love behind Will’s touches, the kisses, the way he caresses Lake’s face, and how he holds her hand in his proudly. Will there love in the end be enough? Reading this novel as I turned each page it got hard to put this novel down. The writer made this great love story come to live sounding very realistic in my opinion.
Many supporting characters, besides the main characters were an enjoyment to read.
Two of my favorite characters were of course Lake and Will. If I had to choice again I would say
It would be Will’s little brothers, Kel and Caulder. Both playing a big part in this novel.
I would recommend this novel to every one and every one looking for a great love story.
I would honestly rate this novel five stars out of five. It’s a must read novel with a magical love story told.
