                     WORD'S FROM  J.P.  GRIDER

Hi. I am new to Book Blogs and this is my first Book Blog Blog. I figured I'd tell you a bit about how I got into writing.
I had always enjoyed being creative - I'd write poetry, craft, and/or crocheted. Creating something tangible has always made me feel accomplished. But I wanted to do more. Crocheting is tangible, that's for sure, but it did not allow my soul to come out in my work. It showed heart, but not much else.
One day, I drove past this old burned down inn in my town. The first time I saw it, I thought wow, there has to be a story there. So I'd drive past it frequently and try to imagine what that inn must have been like in its day. I went on to research it and found little. I then proceeded to research the town and found quite a bit of history there. My story had begun in my head. I bought pens and notebooks and was so excited to start writing it down...but I got to chapter three and fell short. Then one afternoon, my family was sitting around the kitchen table telling stories of my great-grandmother and her incredible life. That's when I thought, yes, NOW I have my story. I started writing Maybe This Life and felt invigorated. Words would just flow from me, and that's when I realized that writing was what I was meant to do. I have all this heart and soul inside of me that I can't show on a daily basis, but when I include them in my stories, I feel that all that life has taught me and all those emotions God had given me were there for a purpose. Though each of my stories is different, all of them hold the very soul of who I am. And because I think of myself as having multiple personalities, isn't it grand that I found writing to be my calling?
Thank you for reading. And now you know how I got into writing.
What are your stories? How did you get into writing?

                                  THANK YOU  J.P.
